The Miss Gay New Jersey Pageant began with a vision from Ray Palazzo in 1982, and later became the production of the year when Jaye bought the rights to Miss Gay NJ in 1988. With their passion and vision, Miss Gay NJ has become a legacy of pageantry here in the Garden State showcasing Female Impersonation Art form and talent.
In 2000, MGNJA, Inc. was born and became a 501 c3 Nonprofit, social services, organization with a mission to assist men, women and children who have been financially stricken due to the onset of HIV/AIDS disease. The vision of the original incorporators remains a part of our organization, to educate our community about HIV and AIDS and to be a leading social services agency that assists clients with small grants, paid directly to providers.
The organization’s mission and vision are extremely important because HIV and AIDS care was limited during the 90’s and 2000’s while government and other social service agencies were scrambling to educate themselves on exactly what HIV and AIDS was, how it could be cured, what medications can be produced to slow the progression, and what effects this disease had on individuals and of course our communities.
While we are living in an age where HIV and AIDS care has advanced both educationally and medically, our organization still receives applications of individuals who rely on the organization’s assistance.
